Visit sunny southern California this summer to help a church plant reach out to their community! Thousand Oaks OPC in Thousand Oaks, California, is seeking a team to help them with their upcoming Vacation Bible School.
This is a great opportunity for the youth of your church or presbytery looking for a way to serve this summer! A team of 10-15 high school and/or college-age students would be ideal. In addition to active, communicant membership in a local church, team members should have some experience working with kids and a willingness to interact with them.
No group preparation is necessary beforehand, aside from familiarization with the music to be taught to the children. The group should simply come ready to jump in, learn, and serve!
Dates
A tentative schedule is as follows:
July 6: Arrival
July 7: Welcome dinner and VBS meeting
July 8: Set up facility and VBS prep
July 9: 1st day of VBS, afternoon free
July 10: 2nd day of VBS, afternoon free
July 11: 3rd day of VBS, afternoon free
July 12: 4th day of VBS, afternoon set up for dessert fellowship, evening fellowship with church and VBS families
July13: Free day
July 14: Lord’s Day Worship together
July 15: Departure
Accommodations
Housing will be provided by local church families. Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will also be provided each day. In order to offset the expenses of ground transportation and food, there will be a cost of $215/person, in addition to travel expenses to Thousand Oaks.
