Is your youth or church group looking for a place to serve during the summer? Iglesia Presbiteriana Sola Escritura (OPC) in Guayama, Puerto Rico (part of the Presbytery of New Jersey) is eager to welcome individuals or a group of 8-10 people to help with the church’s Vacation Bible School, engage in opportunities for community evangelism, and possibly help complete tasks around the church property. The Vacation Bible School will take place June 24-28, 2024.
Team Member Requirements:
Ages 16 and up (though younger children are welcome*)
Communicant member in your local church
Willing to work with children
Energetic and enthusiastic
Does NOT need to speak Spanish
*Note: If you are a parent with younger children and want to come, your child can participate in the VBS and in this way you offer your child an unforgettable experience.
It would be best for the team to arrive June 22 and depart June 29. A team should expect to cover the cost of lodging as well as a vehicle rental for use during the week. Iglesia Presberteriana Sola Escritura will provide lunch and dinner each day. The church will also be providing the materials for the children’s VBS, but would welcome the team’s input on lessons and activities for teenagers.
This effort will also provide occasions to solidify relationships within the regional and broader church, as those members of other OPC churches become more familiar with their brothers and sisters in PR.
Team members should be communicant members faithfully involved in service in their home church. If you or your church group is interested in this opportunity, please complete the application here by February 15, 2024. Each interested individual should submit their own application.
